DOWN's PHILIP ANSELMO Bleeds For Metal; 'Lifer' Performance From NYC Posted Online
April 29, 2011DOWN guitarist Pepper Keenan accidentally hit the band's frontman Philip Anselmo in the head with his guitar during the group's headlining performance last night (Thursday, April 28) at the Best Buy Theater in New York City. The incident took place in the middle of the third song of the band's set, "Lifer", which Anselmo dedicated to his late PANTERA bandmate "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott.

DOWN is the acclaimed New Orleans band featuring CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist),bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA),guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR),and vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA).
Brown is unable to join DOWN for the band's current shows and is being temporarily replaced by CROWBAR bassist Patrick Bruders.
DOWN's three-disc (2 CD/1 DVD) release, "Diary Of A Mad Band", came out last October. It features a two-CD full concert recorded in London. The 130-minute DVD features footage documenting the 2006 return of DOWN from the practice room through the band's first European tour, and a bonus behind-the-scenes featurette entitled "Tyrades and Shananigans".
